In 2009, a dream that had been developing in our hearts for 7 years was finally launched. Cindi and I and a small group of people took the step to pioneer something new in Brisbane. Our journey of preparation had taken us around the world to learn from number of leaders and pastors. Returning to our hometown of Brisbane after spending four years in the United States, we felt the need to build a church that would reach the people of Brisbane and Australia.

We had hoped to see multiple locations in time. This was accelerated when in June of 2009, Lifeplace partnered with Christian City Church Westside. This was a significant step for both churches, and a major turning point in the journey of Lifeplace. Christian City Church was founded and pastored by Pastor Ben's parents, Pastors Grant and Cheryl Windle.

This development meant that Lifeplace became one church meeting in two locations: Carindale and West End. It also meant the addition of an amazing church family to Lifeplace and the also the blessing of a first class church facility.

Our vision is not about us, it’s about you. Before we even started this church it was in our hearts to help equip people to be the church 7 days a week.

Our vision statement puts it this way: empowering you.

Our purpose goes way beyond just having meetings or going through the tradition of church. Rather, we see the local church as the instrument of God in our generation to bring hope and love to the people of our city, nation, and the world.

The heartbeat of our church is to see people who are far from God discover His love and purpose for their lives, and then equip them to reach their potential.

We see a city within a city, with multiple generations and multiple nationalities coming together to be a blessing to the community, helping the poor, influencing the marketplace, strengthening the family, and being a beacon of light to our nation.

The adventure and mandate to build the house of God is amazing. Our hope is that you would join us on this life changing journey.

Our key vision scripture is known in the Bible as the Great Commission. It is where Jesus gives us His mission statement. In Matthew 28:19 it reads, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”
